Portraits

September 9, 2019

A portrait can take many forms. It could be an actors headshot, a stolen moment on the street or even a corporate portrait. The best portraits happen when there is a moment , a silent honest connection between the photographer and the subject where pretence and distractions are stripped away and the real person is revealed. This is when the magic happens . Portraits are what I love to shoot. Kurt Fearnley after winning the Australia Day Marathon..the fire and determination still burning in his eyes. Layne Beachley straight out of the water, saltwater streaming off her or Hawkey fiercely intelligent staring at me unflinchingly from the other side of the camera
